Art as door: Art exhibition at Transformation Gallery - By Enrique Zaldivar

It is an honor for me to be part of the "Doors" exhibition presented by the Transformation Gallery, that aims to reflect on the meaning of the door as an object and how we communicate with our peers.

Three doors were given to three artists to show their vision and meaning.

''My purpose with this project is to reflect between the private and the public, between the personal and the foreign. The door is a more current symbol than ever and for me it means the amount of interaction we want to have with others and it is applicable from immigration to our most private and personal space.

Whenever there is a door there is the possibility that it can be opened, it is a gap that connects one side with another but does not acquire meaning and functionality until it is opened. A closed door is still a wall. I am also interested in talking about art as a door and the artist as the person who opens and intends to dialogue with each observer''.

The event will take place on October 21 from 1-5 pm at the Transformation Gallery in Metuchen, New Jersey, where will be unveiling these murals-sculptures at the same time as an exhibition that includes many artists more. The doors will continue on display outside permanently.
